Residents of Sabuwar Unguwa in Katsina City have expressed their appreciation for the closure of the New Palace Hotel by the Hisbah Board. They conveyed their gratitude during a visit to the Commander General, Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), last Monday.

The elders of the neighbourhood explained that the hotel was causing issues such as corrupting the upbringing of children and disturbing the peace of the community.

In his remarks, Dr. Aminu Usman expressed his pleasure at the visit, noting that it had boosted their morale. He also encouraged them to continue monitoring the activities in their vicinity.

On Thursday, the 13th of this month, the Hisbah Board of Katsina State ordered the immediate closure of the New Palace Hotel following allegations of corrupting young girls. The board stated that during an investigation, they found two young girls in a single room, which was a violation of their regulations.

In a statement, the board mentioned that they held a joint meeting with hotel managers across Katsina State, including the manager of the New Palace Hotel, where it was agreed that no hotel should accommodate underage individuals. Any violation of this agreement would result in severe penalties, according to the statement.

The board added that due to the hotel's non-compliance with their regulations and failure to meet the stipulated guidelines, they decided to close the New Palace Hotel without delay.
